[ Sweet Sorghum, Bioenergy, Development, Southern Africa: ]
Silvae Culture is a Limited company run by Jeremy and Sarah Woods. It works on understanding the the impacts and opportunities for the multiple demands for biomass for the bioeconomy including;
bioenergy, biochemicals, biomaterials and food. We use a range of sustainability assessment frameworks to understand the development, poverty reduction and sustainability dimensions. We are currently carrying out research in a number of countries with the central aim of mobilising modern local bioenergy services within the context of integrated land management. A continuing focus of the research work is the development of sweet sorghum as a multi-purpose (food, fodder and energy), drought tolerant and resource-use efficient crop for the rural areas of developing countries. More details can be found at our dedicated sweet sorghum web site outlining over 10 years of research into this critical under-utilised crop: www.sorghum.silvaeculture.co.uk Downloadable Publications and Reports | ||||||
